HPLC Separation of Nucleic Bases at pH 4 and 5 on Zodiac HST N Column

Home HPLC Separation of Nucleic Bases at pH 4 and 5 on Zodiac HST N Column

Description

Nucleic bases, essential biological compounds found in DNA and RNA, can be effectively separated using the Zodiac HST N column. This mixed-mode HILIC column features highly polar characteristics and supports both cation- and anion-exchange interactions.

Compounds such as adenosine and uridine, which often elute closely, can be further resolved by simply adjusting the pH of the mobile phase. The method uses a mobile phase composed of water and acetonitrile (MeCN/ACN), buffered with Ammonium Acetate, and is compatible with UV detection at 250 nm.

The Zodiac HST N column provides flexible selectivity for nucleic acid bases and related polar analytes through a combination of hydrophilic interaction and ionic retention mechanisms, making it ideal for high-resolution separations in nucleic acid research and analysis.
