HPLC Separation of Dopamine and Epinephrine in HILIC and Cation-Exchange Modes

Dopamine and epinephrine, two polar neurotransmitters, are effectively separated on the Zodiac HST S2 HILIC mixed-mode column using a combination of hydrophilic interaction and cation-exchange mechanisms. Retention is influenced by acetonitrile content, buffer concentration, and pH. This method is LC/MS compatible and suitable for analyzing polar metabolites in biofluids.
