HPLC Retention Analysis of EDTA in Sulfated Cyclodextrin Formulations Using ZodiaA HST-SB Column

Home HPLC Retention Analysis of EDTA in Sulfated Cyclodextrin Formulations Using ZodiaA HST-SB Column

Description

EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is extensively used across textile, pulp and paper, food, and pharmaceutical industries, primarily as a chelating agent and preservative. Due to its highly hydrophilic nature, along with two basic and four carboxylic acid groups, EDTA has a strong affinity for binding metals, which makes its HPLC analysis particularly challenging. In this method, EDTA is analyzed in the presence of copper sulfate as a visualization agent using a ZodiaA HST SB column. This approach enables reliable detection of EDTA in a wide range of mixtures and formulations using a UV detector.
