HILIC Separation of Carboxylic Acids on Zodiac HST N Column

Hydrophilic carboxylic acids are effectively separated using the Zodiac HST N mixed-mode HILIC column. This method allows for the resolution of seven organic acids based on differences in their polarity and pKa values. By adjusting the ionization states of both the analytes and the stationary phase—through mobile phase pH and buffer conditions—the elution order of both organic and inorganic acids can be finely controlled. This provides a versatile approach for analyzing mixtures of acidic compounds with varying chemical characteristics.
