HILIC HPLC Separation of Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) on Zodiac HST N Column

Home HILIC HPLC Separation of Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) on Zodiac HST N Column

Description

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a low-toxicity compound widely used in products such as creams, laxatives, and lubricants. When PEG is conjugated to therapeutic proteins, it extends their circulation time in the bloodstream, enhancing therapeutic efficacy, reducing toxicity, and allowing for longer dosing intervals. Zodiac HST N columns enable effective separation of PEG oligomers using hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC). This method is suitable for quantifying PEG content in various formulations. Separation can be finely tuned by adjusting the proportion of acetonitrile or the pH of the buffer. Detection can be carried out using ELSD, RI, or LC/MS techniques.
