TFA Concentration Effect on Retention of Tricine using Zodiac HST A

Description

Zodiac HST A retains the hydrophilic zwitterion tricine through a combination of polar interactions and ion exchange. Tricine, which is not retained by traditional reversed-phase chromatography, can be effectively separated on Zodiac HST A. Retention can be tuned by adjusting the concentration of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in the mobile phase. The method delivers excellent peak shapes using a mass spectrometry-compatible mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN, ACN), and TFA, with detection by evaporative light scattering (ELSD).
