Description
Fenofibric acid and fenofibrate were efficiently separated on the Zodiac HST OG column (100 × 2.1 mm, 2.7 μm, 90 Å) under reversed-phase conditions. The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile and water (60:40, v/v) with 0.05% formic acid, providing optimal resolution and peak shape. The acidic buffer enhanced separation of the acidic metabolite (fenofibric acid) and the neutral parent compound (fenofibrate). The method was run at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min with UV detection at 286 nm, offering high sensitivity and precision for pharmaceutical or bioanalytical applications.
