Separation of Chlorate, Perchlorate, and Phosphonate Ions on Zodiac HST TH Column

Home Separation of Chlorate, Perchlorate, and Phosphonate Ions on Zodiac HST TH Column

Description

The ionic forms of chlorate, perchlorate, and phosphonates are widely used across industries such as pharmaceuticals, paper manufacturing, and explosives. Due to their lack of UV absorbance, Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (ELSD) was employed to detect both anions and cations of these sodium salts. Separation was achieved using two mixed-mode columns: Zodiac HST RP, a reversed-phase column embedded with basic ion-pairing groups, and Zodiac HST TH, which combines reverse-phase retention with tunable ionic interactions through embedded charged groups and a hydrophobic chain. These columns provide complementary selectivity for effective resolution of inorganic ions.
