Separation of 11 Amino Acids Using Zodiac HST OG Column with ELSD Detection

Home Separation of 11 Amino Acids Using Zodiac HST OG Column with ELSD Detection

Description

This application demonstrates the simultaneous separation of 11 amino acids using the Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode HPLC column. The mobile phase includes 30% acetonitrile (MeCN) and uses a trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) gradient from 0.05% to 0.3% over 25 minutes, enabling efficient retention and resolution of structurally similar amino acids.

The separation is monitored using Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (ELSD), suitable for non-UV-absorbing compounds such as amino acids. This method exploits both ion-exchange and reversed-phase mechanisms of the Zodiac HST OG column.
