Retention and Separation of Cephalosporin-Class Antibiotics Using Zodiac HST OG Mixed-Mode Column

This application demonstrates the effective retention and separation of cephalosporin antibiotics Cefepime and Cefadroxil on the Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode stationary phase column. The analysis is carried out using an isocratic mobile phase composed of 30% acetonitrile and 70% water with 0.5% sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) as the buffer. Chromatographic separation is achieved at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, with UV detection at 270 nm. The method shows excellent peak shape and resolution for structurally distinct beta-lactam antibiotics, highlighting the column’s utility for polar and zwitterionic drug compounds.
