Description
Dimethylformamide (DMF) and Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) are widely used organic solvents. Both are miscible with water and most organic solvents, and can dissolve a wide range of polar and nonpolar compounds.
These highly polar compounds can be effectively retained and separated under anhydrous (water-free) HPLC conditions using a Zodiac HST HB column, which leverages hydrogen-bonding as the primary separation mechanism. The method employs a gradient elution using acetonitrile (ACN) and methanol (MeOH) without the need for a buffer, enabling a simple and robust approach. Detection is performed using UV at 220 nm.
