HPLC Separation of Heparines and Pentosan

Home HPLC Separation of Heparines and Pentosan

Description

Heparin and pentosan are highly sulfated glucosaminoglycans commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry. Their high negative charge density from multiple sulfate groups and polar, polymeric nature make them challenging to separate and quantify. Using the Zodiac HST S3 column in HILIC/anion-exclusion mode enables effective separation of heparin and its salts, along with pentosan. This method is suitable for quantitation in biological fluids and pharmaceutical formulations, with detection by ELSD, CAD, or LC/MS.
