HPLC – MS Method for Analysis of Diquat on Zodiac HST TH Column

Diquat is a fast-acting, non-selective contact herbicide widely used in agriculture, horticulture, and landscaping for the control of a broad spectrum of weeds. It is also employed as a desiccant to accelerate crop drying before harvest. Although highly effective, diquat’s toxicity and potential environmental impact require responsible handling and strict compliance with safety and regulatory protocols.

Analytical Method for Diquat:

Diquat can be effectively retained and analyzed using the Zodiac HST TH mixed-mode stationary phase column. The analytical method involves isocratic elution with a simple mobile phase comprising water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and ammonium formate as a buffer. Detection is achieved using Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (ELSD), or other evaporative-based detection methods such as Charged Aerosol Detection (CAD) or Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS).
