HPLC Method for Separation of Tranexamic Acid, Nicotinic Acid, Nicotinamide on Zodiac HST OG Column

Home HPLC Method for Separation of Tranexamic Acid, Nicotinic Acid, Nicotinamide on Zodiac HST OG Column

Description

Nicotinic acid and nicotinamide are forms of vitamin B3 essential for energy metabolism, skin health, and the nervous system.

  • Nicotinic Acid (Niacin): Used as a dietary supplement and to lower cholesterol; causes vasodilation and flushing.

  • Nicotinamide: A precursor to NAD+, involved in cellular metabolism and widely used in skincare for anti-inflammatory effects.

Tranexamic Acid is a synthetic lysine derivative used as an antifibrinolytic to prevent excessive bleeding in surgeries, trauma, and heavy menstruation. It is also studied for treating melasma.

Nicotinic acid, nicotinamide, and tranexamic acid can be retained and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode column with an isocratic method employing water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer, with UV detection at 210 nm.
