HPLC Method for Separation of Sulfur-containing Biomolecules on Zodiac HST OG Column

Home HPLC Method for Separation of Sulfur-containing Biomolecules on Zodiac HST OG Column

Description

These compounds play key roles in oxidative stress defense and redox balance:

  • Cysteine (Cys): Sulfur-containing amino acid, forms disulfide bonds.

  • Reduced Glutathione (GSH): Antioxidant tripeptide, neutralizes ROS.

  • Cystine: Oxidized dimer of cysteine, stabilizes proteins.

  • Cysteine-Glutathione Disulfide (CySSG): Mixed disulfide, aids cysteine transport.

  • Oxidized Glutathione (GSSG): Formed under oxidative stress, reduced back by glutathione reductase.

Chromatographic Analysis:

These compounds are separated and analyzed on a Zodiac HST OG reverse-phase column (4.6 × 150 mm, 5 µm, 100 Å) using a water/MeCN/sulfuric acid mobile phase.
