HPLC Method for Separation of Ketoconazole and Potassium Sorbate on Zodiac HST B Column
HomeHPLC Method for Separation of Ketoconazole and Potassium Sorbate on Zodiac HST B Column
Description
Ketoconazole, also known by the brand name Nizoral, is an antifungal compound widely used in the treatment of dandruff and commonly formulated as a shampoo.
Analytical Method: Ketoconazole can be effectively retained, separated, and analyzed alongside potassium sorbate using a Zodiac HST B reverse-phase column. The analysis is performed using a gradient method with a mobile phase composed of acetonitrile (MeCN), water, and sulfuric acid as the ionic modifier. Detection is achieved using UV at 200 nm, providing high resolution and excellent peak symmetry.
