Description

Resorcinol, N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-p-phenylenediamine, p-Phenylenediamine (PPD), and 1-Naphthol are important compounds used in various industries:

  • Resorcinol – A dihydroxybenzene used in resin production and as a topical antiseptic.

  • N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-p-phenylenediamine – A key ingredient in hair dye formulations.

  • p-Phenylenediamine (PPD) – Commonly found in hair dyes and black rubber products.

  • 1-Naphthol – Used in dye and perfume synthesis.

These compounds can be retained, separated, and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode column with an isocratic mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid buffer, with UV detection at 210 nm.
