Home HPLC Method for Quantification of Clotrimazole in Healthcare Products Using the Zodiac HST OG2 Column

Description

Clotrimazole is an imidazole-class antifungal used to treat skin, vaginal, and ear fungal infections. It works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membranes and leading to cell death.

Clotrimazole can be retained and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG2 mixed-mode column with an isocratic method and a mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed using UV at 200 nm.
