Description

Clotrimazole is an imidazole-class antifungal agent used to treat a variety of fungal infections affecting the skin, vagina, and ears. It works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, which disrupts the integrity of fungal cell membranes, ultimately leading to cell death.

Clotrimazole can be effectively retained and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG2 mixed-mode column. The analysis employs a gradient elution method with a mobile phase consisting of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer. Detection is carried out using UV at 200 nm.
