Description

Tribenzylamine (TBA) is an organic compound classified under triarylamines.

Triarylamines feature an amine nitrogen bonded to three aromatic groups. In the case of tribenzylamine, these are three benzyl groups—each consisting of a phenyl ring attached to a methylene (-CH₂-) group. The molecular formula of tribenzylamine is (C₆H₅CH₂)₃N, making it a tertiary amine.

TBA is commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis, especially in the preparation of more complex organic compounds.

Analytical Method:
Tribenzylamine can be effectively retained and analyzed using a Zodiac HST B mixed-mode column (3.2 × 100 mm, 5 µm, 100 Å). The mobile phase comprises water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed using UV at 200 nm.
