HPLC Method For Analysis Of L-Carnitine and Arginine on Zodiac HST OG Column

L-carnitine, a quaternary ammonium compound, plays a critical role in the metabolic pathways of living organisms. Arginine, an essential alpha-amino acid, is fundamental to protein biosynthesis. Both compounds, due to their amine functionality, exhibit strong absorbance in the low UV range.

Using the Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode column, L-carnitine and Arginine can be effectively retained and separated. The separation is achieved with a gradient mobile phase composed of water and acetonitrile (MeCN), utilizing sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) as the buffering component. Detection is performed at 205 nm, providing reliable and sensitive analysis with high resolution.
