HPLC Method for Analysis of Iodide and Thyroid Hormones
HomeHPLC Method for Analysis of Iodide and Thyroid Hormones
Description
Iodine is crucial for thyroid hormone production, with T3 and T4 playing key roles in metabolism regulation. This HPLC method enables simultaneous analysis of iodide, T3, T4, and their precursors (3,5-Diiodo-L-thyronine, 3,5-Diiodo-L-tyrosine, and 3-Iodo-L-tyrosine). The Zodiac HST RP column, combining hydrophobic and anion-exchange properties, is used to analyze these hydrophobic hormones and the polar iodide ion. The method utilizes TFA as an ionic modifier for stable acidic pH and sufficient ion strength, with mobile phase conditions compatible with UV, MS, ELSD, and CAD detection.
