HPLC Method for Analysis of Indomethacin on Zodiac HST- OG2 Column

Description

Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to alleviate pain, fever, and stiffness. It is more potent than many other NSAIDs and is associated with a higher risk of side effects. Indomethacin can be efficiently analyzed using the Zodiac HST OG2 reverse-phase (RP) HPLC column, which features embedded acidic ionizable groups. The method employs a simple mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile (MeCN), water, and phosphoric acid. For mass spectrometry (MS)-compatible applications, phosphoric acid should be substituted with formic acid. Zodiac HST OG2 is available in smaller 3 µm particle sizes for rapid UPLC analysis. This liquid chromatography method is scalable, making it suitable for preparative separation of impurities as well as pharmacokinetic studies.
