HPLC Method for Analysis of Cyanamide, Dicyandiamide and Urea on Zodiac HST S1 Column with Varies Mobile Phases
HomeHPLC Method for Analysis of Cyanamide, Dicyandiamide and Urea on Zodiac HST S1 Column with Varies Mobile Phases
Description
Cyanamide (H₂CN₂) is a highly reactive and toxic compound commonly used in the manufacturing of fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and specialty chemicals. It also functions as a soil fumigant for pest and weed control.
Dicyandiamide (C₂H₄N₄) is a white crystalline solid utilized as a slow-release nitrogen fertilizer. Beyond agriculture, it finds applications in pharmaceuticals, dyes, resins, and as a nitrification inhibitor to minimize nitrogen loss in soil.
Urea (CO(NH₂)₂), a widely used nitrogen-rich compound, serves key roles in fertilizers, plastics, resins, adhesives, animal feed, industrial chemistry, and cosmetics, particularly for its moisturizing effect in skincare.
Cyanamide, dicyandiamide, and urea can be effectively separated and analyzed using the Zodiac HST S1 normal-phase mixed-mode column. The method utilizes a mobile phase of water and acetonitrile (MeCN) without buffer, and detection is achieved using UV at 200 nm.
