HPLC Method for Analysis of Choline on Zodiac HST TH Column

Home HPLC Method for Analysis of Choline on Zodiac HST TH Column

Description

Choline is a water-soluble, vitamin-like essential nutrient that plays a key role in various physiological functions. It is a component of lecithin, commonly found in plant and animal tissues, and is closely associated with the B-vitamin complex. Although first identified in 1862, choline was only recently recognized as an essential nutrient.

For HPLC analysis, choline can be effectively retained and separated using the Zodiac HST TH column. This column features embedded ion-pairing groups with both positive and negative charges in the stationary phase, enabling precise separation of analytes with diverse ionic characteristics. The method uses isocratic elution with a mass spectrometry-compatible mobile phase composed of acetonitrile (ACN), water, and ammonium formate (AmFm) buffer. Detection can be performed using ELSD, CAD, or LC/MS
