Description
Imidazolidinyl urea is commonly used in cosmetic formulations as a preservative due to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, and molds.
This compound can be effectively retained and separated using a Zodiac HST HB column, which operates based on hydrogen-bonding interactions. The separation is achieved using an isocratic mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile (ACN) and water. Imidazolidinyl urea can be detected using low UV (210 nm), as well as ELSD, CAD, or LC/MS, offering flexibility across various detection platforms.
