HPLC Determination of Escitalopram (Cipralex) on Zodiac HST-SB Column

Home HPLC Determination of Escitalopram (Cipralex) on Zodiac HST-SB Column

Description

Escitalopram is an antidepressant classified as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), commonly used to restore serotonergic function in the treatment of depression and anxiety. It plays a crucial role in helping many patients recover from depressive disorders. Escitalopram can be effectively retained on the Zodiac HST SB reverse-phase (RP) mixed-mode column, which features embedded strong basic ion-pairing groups. Separation is achieved using an isocratic method with a simple mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN, ACN), and a sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) buffer. Detection is performed by UV at 240 nm.
