HPLC Analysis of Procainamide on Zodiac HST- OG2 Column

Procainamide is an antiarrhythmic medication used to treat irregular heart rhythms, including atrial and ventricular fibrillation or atrial flutter. It works by stabilizing the heart’s electrical activity and restoring normal rhythm. Procainamide blocks sodium channels in the heart, slowing the conduction of electrical impulses and preventing abnormal electrical activity. Procainamide can be retained and analyzed using a ZODIAC HST OG2 mixed-mode stationary phase column. The analysis employs an isocratic method with a mobile phase consisting of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and ammonium formate as a buffer. Detection is carried out using UV at 280 nm.
