HPLC Analysis of Nicotinamide and Pyridoxine on Zodiac HST OG Column

Home HPLC Analysis of Nicotinamide and Pyridoxine on Zodiac HST OG Column

Description

Nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3, is essential for energy production, DNA repair, and cellular signaling. Along with niacin, it is converted into the coenzymes NAD⁺ and NADP⁺, which are critical for metabolic processes.

Pyridoxine, a form of vitamin B6, supports amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, and hemoglobin production. It is one of three natural B6 vitamers, all of which convert to the active coenzyme pyridoxal 5′-phosphate (PLP), vital for neurological and immune health.

HPLC Analysis:

Nicotinamide and pyridoxine (vitamin B6) can be effectively retained, separated, and analyzed using the Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode column. The method uses a simple isocratic mobile phase composed of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer, with UV detection at 270 nm for reliable quantification.
