HPLC Analysis of Econazole on Zodiac HST- OG2 Column

Description

Econazole, an imidazole-class antifungal, is used to treat various fungal skin infections. It works by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, thereby disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity and leading to cell death.

Econazole can be effectively retained and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG2 mixed-mode column. The analysis is conducted using a gradient elution method with a mobile phase composed of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed using UV at 200 nm.
