HPLC Analysis of Drugs in Tylenol Cold and Cough Remedies

Components of Tylenol Cold and Cough Remedy were successfully separated using the Zodiac HST TH mixed-mode column. The method enables analysis of neutral (acetaminophen), basic (chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan, pseudoephedrine), and acidic (maleic acid/maleate) compounds with excellent peak shape and retention control. This approach is suitable for quantitative analysis in formulations like Advil, Tylenol, Dimetapp, Robitussin, NyQuil, and others, and is applicable in production, QA/QC, and biological studies.
