Description

Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent used to treat respiratory disorders associated with excessive mucus. It works by breaking down mucus structure, making it easier to expel from the respiratory tract.

Using the Zodiac HST OG2 mixed-mode column, Bromhexine can be effectively retained, separated, and analyzed under isocratic conditions. The method utilizes a 60:40 mixture of acetonitrile and water, with 0.05% phosphoric acid as a buffer. The analyte is detected using UV at 210, 245, and 315 nm, offering multiple points of sensitivity. This setup provides sharp peak resolution with retention times at 2.81 and 4.22 minutes, ensuring accurate and efficient quantification of Bromhexine in pharmaceutical or clinical formulations.
