HPLC Analysis of Alachlor on Zodiac HST TH Column

Home HPLC Analysis of Alachlor on Zodiac HST TH Column

Description

Alachlor is a herbicide from the chloroacetanilide family that inhibits key components of the gibberellin pathway in plants. Classified by the EPA as slightly toxic, alachlor has a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 2 ppb in drinking water. It was banned by the European Union in 2006 due to environmental and health concerns.

The Zodiac HST TH column is used to retain alachlor and achieve effective separation from related impurities. With embedded ionic and hydrophobic groups, the column supports mixed-mode interactions that enable fine-tuned separation of polar and non-polar compounds. The method is LC/MS compatible and serves as a reliable solution for analyzing alachlor in complex matrices.
