Oxytocin is a peptide hormone and neuropeptide involved in key physiological and behavioral functions such as childbirth, lactation, social bonding, and stress regulation. Often referred to as the “love hormone,” it facilitates uterine contractions, milk ejection, and emotional attachment.
Oxytocin can be effectively retained and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG2 mixed-mode column. The analysis is performed using a gradient elution method with a mobile phase consisting of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer. Detection is carried out using UV at 200 nm.
