Description
Carbendazim is a widely used fungicide that controls various fungal diseases in crops by inhibiting fungal development. It disrupts microtubule formation during mitosis, preventing cell division and fungal growth.
Uses
Agricultural Applications: Protects fruits, vegetables, and cereals from fungi like powdery mildew, leaf spots, and root rot.
Post-Harvest Treatment: Prevents spoilage of fruits and vegetables during storage and transport.
Seed Treatment: Shields seeds from soil-borne fungal infections before planting.
Carbendazim can be retained, separated, and analyzed using a Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode stationary phase column. The analysis follows an isocratic method with a mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer, with UV detection at 200 nm.
