Analysis of Arbidol (Umifenovir) on Zodiac HST OG Column

Umifenovir (Arbidol) is an antiviral drug used primarily in Russia and China for the prevention and treatment of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI). It inhibits viral entry by preventing membrane fusion. It has also been studied for potential COVID-19 treatment, though its efficacy remains under investigation.

Chromatographic Analysis:

Umifenovir can be retained and analyzed on a Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode stationary phase column using an isocratic mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and ammonium formate as a buffer. Detection is performed at 254 nm using UV, ELSD, or other evaporative detection methods (CAD, ESI-MS).
