Alfuzosin is a selective α1-blocker used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by relaxing smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder, improving urinary flow and reducing symptoms like difficulty urinating and frequent urges.

Chromatographic Analysis:

Alfuzosin can be retained and analyzed on a Zodiac HST OG mixed-mode stationary phase column using an isocratic mobile phase of water, acetonitrile (MeCN), and sulfuric acid as a buffer. Detection is performed at 254 nm using UV.
