2,4,5-Trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T) is a synthetic auxin and herbicide that was extensively used until the 1970s. The European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL) incorporated a QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Rugged, and Safe) method for 2,4,5-T as a target pesticide in EUPT-SRM. To retain 2,4,5-T and separate it from impurities, Obelisc R and Zodiac HST B2 columns were utilized.
Zodiac HST B2 features embedded basic ion-pairing groups, while Obelisc R incorporates embedded ionic and hydrophobic groups, offering enhanced flexibility for optimizing separations. This LC/MS-compatible method serves as a reliable approach for analyzing 2,4,5-T and numerous other pesticides with high precision.
