Separation of Pyrazinecarboxamide and Related Compounds on Zodiac HST A

Home Separation of Pyrazinecarboxamide and Related Compounds on Zodiac HST A

Description

Pyrazinamide, an essential medicine listed by the World Health Organization for treating tuberculosis, can be effectively separated from structurally similar pyrazine compounds using a Zodiac HST A mixed-mode column. These compounds can be challenging to separate in reverse-phase HPLC, but the Zodiac HST A column, with its stationary phase containing strong acidic ion-pairing groups, provides efficient retention. The analysis is performed using an isocratic method with a mobile phase of acetonitrile (ACN) and water, with sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) as the buffer. UV detection at 275 nm ensures high sensitivity and accuracy in the separation process.
