Impact of Organic Modifier on Cation Complex Separation Using Zodiac HST C

The Zodiac HST C column separates inorganic cations (potassium, sodium, lithium) using a combination of cation exchange and complex formation. Unlike traditional cation-exchange columns, the peak order is reversed and can be further adjusted by switching the organic modifier from acetonitrile (MeCN) to methanol (MeOH). The method uses a mobile phase of water, acetonitrile or methanol, and ammonium acetate, compatible with UV and ELSD detection.
