HPLC Analysis of Thiourea on Zodiac HST- P1 Column

Thiourea, with the chemical formula (NH2)2CS, is a versatile compound used in organic synthesis, photography, hair treatments, and radioprotection in cancer therapy. It is also used in agriculture to promote germination and stimulate flowering. For analysis, thiourea can be retained and separated using a Zodiac HST P1 mixed-mode phase column with a mobile phase consisting of water and Acetonitrile (MeCN), with no buffer. This method allows for UV detection at 200 nm. The Limit of Detection (LOD) for this method depends on the instrument and may vary across laboratories even with the same analytical approach.
