HPLC Method For Analysis Of Succinic Anhydride and Succinic Acid on Zodiac HST S2 Column

Succinic acid, an important intermediate in the electron transport chain, and its derivative, succinic anhydride, used in polymer resins and various industrial applications, can be effectively separated using the Zodiac HST S2 column. This HILIC-based column utilizes hydrogen-bonding interactions for retention. A mobile phase consisting of water and an acetonitrile (ACN) gradient—without buffer—enables clean separation and good retention of both compounds. The method supports UV detection at 225 nm and is suitable for applications in pharmaceuticals, food, and fragrance industries.
