HPLC Analysis of Chlorpyrifos-methyl on Zodiac HST TH Column

Home HPLC Analysis of Chlorpyrifos-methyl on Zodiac HST TH Column

Description

Chlorpyrifos-methyl, also known by trade names such as Dursban and Lorsban, is an organophosphate insecticide that has been banned for residential use since 2001 due to its high toxicity. Despite the restrictions, it remains one of the most widely used organophosphate insecticides, according to the EPA. It is listed as a target compound by the EURL–SRM for pesticide residue analysis in cereals and animal feed.

The Zodiac HST TH column is employed for the retention and separation of chlorpyrifos-methyl and its related impurities. Featuring embedded ionic and hydrophobic groups, the column supports mixed-mode interactions that enable precise separation of organophosphates. The method is fully LC/MS compatible and provides a robust solution for analyzing chlorpyrifos-methyl and other organophosphate insecticides.
